Before completing a request for an appeal, please look into the following options:
- Check within Student Planning that you are enrolled in the correct program of study. If you were evaluated under a different program of study or you recently changed your program of study, please request a re-evaluation here.
- Do you see 1999/2999 credit on your record? Consult with an academic advisor to see if a course substitution can be an option for you. A course substitution is initiated by an advisor and approved by the Division of Academic Affairs. Please schedule to meet with an advisor to initiate this process.
If you have an appeal to credits that were transferred in, please follow the transfer appeal procedure listed below:
- The student wishing to appeal a transfer evaluation should do so within 30 days of receipt of evaluation. Contact the transcript evaluator:

Attn: Becky Price, Assistant Director, Registrar's Office - The Assistant Director, Registrar's Office will confer with the student, the transcript evaluator, and any appropriate academic chairperson(s). The student will be notified of the decision in writing within two weeks of the appeal.
- The student who wishes to appeal the decision of the Assistant Director, Registrar's Office must do so in writing within 30 days to the Vice President of Learning. This written appeal should be addressed to the following:

La Plata, Maryland 20646 - The vice president will review the documentation of the Transcript Coordinator and Assistant Director, Registrar's Office and will notify the student in writing of the decision within two weeks of receipt of the appeal. The decision of the vice president is final.
