School Scholarship

Academic Common Market

The Academic Common Market allows students to pay in-state tuition rates for select out-of-state institutions if their desired program is not offered within their state. 

Deadlines:

  • Apply for Fall Semester March 1st  - June 30th (annually)
  • Apply for Spring Semester September 1st - November 15th (annually)
  • Apply for Summer Semester (not available at all institutions) January 2nd - February 28th (annually)

Transfer Students​​ only: You may submit an ACM application while your admission to the university is pending; HOWEVER, your application will not be deemed complete, reviewed, or processed until you login to your OneStop application and upload your acceptance letter.

American Business School in Paris

Through our Articulation Agreement, ABS Paris will waive the application fee for CSM students who qualify under the agreement.  

American Public University

Through our Articulation Agreement, the student does not have to pay an application fee or technology fee. 

Arizona State University

Arizona State University has a directory of transfer scholarships. Check specific scholarships to see requirements and locations the scholarships will be accepted.  

Bridgewater College

Bridgewater College offers these out-of-state scholarships (each of which are renewable):

  • If the student possesses a 2.20-2.49 cumulative GPA, they are guaranteed $14,500/year.
  • If the student possesses a 2.50-2.99 cumulative GPA, they are guaranteed $17,000/year.
  • If the student possesses a 3.0-3.34 cumulative GPA, they are guaranteed $19,000/year.
  • If the student possesses a 3.35-3.69 cumulative GPA, they are guaranteed $21,000/year.
  • If the student possesses a cumulative GPA of 3.70 or higher, they are guaranteed $23,000/year.
  • If a student is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, they qualify for $3,000/year that can be used in conjunction with the other transfer scholarships.

Capitol Technology University

Capitol Technology University offers scholarships - ranging from $2,500 to $12,000 - to qualifying community college students who are transferring to Capitol Technology University. Eligible students must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA and submit an essay. The scholarship is renewable to students who maintain a 3.0 GPA and complete 24 credits each academic year.

 

Capella University

Through our Articulation Agreement, eligible CSM faculty, staff, and graduates will receive a 10% tuition discount on all Capella University courses, excluding residential colloquia and fees.

Coastal Carolina University

Transfer students are eligible for the following scholarships:

  • Transfer Scholar Level I Award: 25% of full-time tuition.
  • Transfer Scholar Level II Award: 20% of full-time tuition.
  • Transfer Scholar Level III Award: 15% of full-time tuition.
  • Visual and Performing Arts Award: 25% of full-time tuition.
  • PGA Golf Management Transfer Award: 25% of full-time tuition.
  • Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship: 10% of full-time tuition. Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative collegiate GPA and 30 transferable hours.

Colorado State University-Global

CSM graduates receive a 10% affiliate Community College tuition discount. CSM students transferring to CSU Global from College of Southern Maryland can waive the $25 application fee through our partnership using the coupon code, "NETWORK."  

Coppin State University

Students transferring from College of Southern Maryland to Coppin may be eligible for the Transfer Scholarships offered by Coppin. The Office of Admissions identifies qualified transfer students for the Transfer Scholarship. This merit-based scholarship provides an award of $2000.00 for the academic year ($1000.00 per semester). Students must complete the AA or AS degree to qualify. A total of fifty transfer students are awarded this scholarship each year and may renew for an additional year. 

Delaware State University

Through our Articulation Agreement, CSM graduates who qualify for Guaranteed Admission will receive an extra $500 scholarship for the first semester and for each additional semester if they maintain a 2.75 GPA. 

DeSales University

Through the ACCESS Program, students are eligible to receive a discount, making their tuition $180.00/credit for their online programs if the student has a 2.75 or higher GPA, complete an Associate’s degree, and transfers to DeSales within 6 months of completing their Associate’s degree. Their online programs include:

Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM)

FIDM offers a variety of scholarships for high school applicants as well as college graduates and transfer applicants. Scholarships include full and partial awards, and many are renewable by maintaining specific requirements.

Frostburg State University

  • Through our Articulation Agreement, students who are participating in the Associate to Bachelor’s for Nursing program will have their application fee waived. 

For all transfer students, they can only receive one of the scholarships listed below. Admission applications are automatically screened by the Admissions Office to select recipients of these awards:

  • If a student has earned an Associate’s degree (A.A., A.S., A.S.E., A.A.T) and possesses a minimum 3.0 GPA, they are eligible for the Associate Degree Scholarships. This scholarship is for $2,500/year and is renewable for up to 4 semesters.
  • If a student has earned at least 12 credits and possess a minimum 3.25 GPA, they are eligible for the Old Main Scholarship. This scholarship is for $1,000/year and is renewable for up to 6 semesters depending on number of credits student is transferring.

George Mason University

CSM students applying under our Articulation Agreement are automatically considered for a non-resident Patriot Transfer Scholarship.

Transfer students are eligible for the following scholarships:

  • If the student possesses a 2.85 to 3.49 cumulative GPA, they are eligible for $10,000/year.
  • If the student possesses a 3.50 to 4.00 cumulative GPA, they are eligible for $12,000/year.
  • Recipients must be classified as non-residents of Virginia and maintain full-time enrollment each fall and spring semester. The scholarship is offered for 2 academic years. Students are required to maintain a minimum 2.75 Mason GPA.

George Washington University

Through our Articulation Agreements, students who are applying for the GWU College of Professional Studies or the School of Medicine and Health Sciences will have their application fee waived if they graduate from CSM and apply within one year of their graduation from CSM.

George Washington University School of Nursing

Through our Articulation Agreement, GWU School of Nursing will award 3 CSM students a scholarship.

Goucher College

Goucher College is excited to recognize transfer students on their academic accomplishments and will award merit scholarships based on students’ GPA at the time of admission. 

2023-2024 Transfer Students are guaranteed the following scholarships to Goucher College depending on the student's cumulative GPA.  These are annual scholarships that are renewable as long as students remain in good academic standing according to the college’s academic policies:

Additional scholarships are available for transfer students who have earned an associate degree, completed honor’s curriculum, and/or are members of Phi Theta Kappa. 

  • Students who have earned an Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Science (AS), Associate of Arts in Teaching (AAT) - will receive the transfer award of $2,500. Official transcripts must indicate the date degree was conferred.  
  • Phi Theta Kappa members are eligible to receive an award of $2,000.  
  • Honor’s Program students who have completed at least 12 credits of designated honor’s courses, with a C-or better, are awarded an additional $2,000

Hood College

Hood College offers the following scholarships to Transfer Students:

  • CSM students who enroll at Hood College full-time will be awarded a special College of Southern Maryland Scholarship in the amount of $500 per semester.
  • Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship, worth $2,000, which is awarded to full-time students who have indicated their induction cycle and institution of their Hood application. Please indicate on your application if you have been inducted into PTK.
  • Honors Scholarship, worth $2,000, which is awarded to students who have been admitted to the Hood College Honors Program. 

Transfer Students who apply to Hood College will be considered for the following special scholarships:

  • Founders’ Scholarship, covering one-half of tuition
  • Trailblazer Scholarship, covering one-third of tuition
  • Recognition Award, covering one-quarter of tuition
  • Opportunity Award, covering $5,000

Immaculata University

Immaculata University offers a Grant for Two-Year College or Community College Students. This scholarship is awarded to new traditional undergraduate transfer students for the 2018-2019 year who have received an associate degree from either a community college or a two-year institution. Students must have a GPA of 2.5.

Jack Kent Cook Foundation

Each award is intended to cover a significant share of the student’s educational expenses – including tuition, living expenses, books and required fees – for the final two to three years necessary to achieve a bachelor’s degree. Awards vary by individual, based on the cost of tuition as well as other grants or scholarships they may receive. This highly competitive scholarship includes: - Up to $40,000 per year to attend a four-year accredited undergraduate school. -Ability to pursue any area of study. - Personal advising about selecting a college and navigating financial aid. - Multifaceted advising about how to transition to a four-year college and maximize the student experience.

Liberty University

Residential transfer students with no test scores are eligible for the following scholarships:

  • If a student possess a 3.00-3.29 cumulative GPA, they will receive $1,500/year.
  • If a student possess a 3.30-3.79 cumulative GPA, they will receive $2,500/year.
  • If a student possess a 3.80 or higher cumulative GPA, they will receive $5,000/year.
  • Members of Phi Theta Kappa who are transferring directly from a two-year college and have a minimum 3.5 GPA are eligible for the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship for $1,000/year for up to four years.

Longwood University

There are between one and ten $1,000 renewable scholarships available each fall for Phi Theta Kappa members. Availability depends on the number of renewed scholarships. Selection criteria are based upon merit and need. To apply, please email the Financial Aid office to request an application form: finaid@longwood.edu.  

Loyola University Maryland

Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis to students with strong academic records. Scholarships range from $15,000-$24,000 per year. These awards are renewable for up to 3 years of full-time undergraduate study. You will automatically be considered for merit scholarships with your application for transfer admission.

Mary Baldwin University

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship Prospective and current MBU Online undergraduate students who have earned or will earn a transferable associate’s degree and are PTK members may apply for this $1,500 scholarship, awarded in the spring. 

Maryland Higher Education Commission

The 2+2 Transfer Scholarship is designed to assist and encourage transfer students from Maryland community colleges to attend a 4-year institution within the State. Students must be enrolled in an eligible accredited Maryland postsecondary institution. You and your parents (if you are a dependent student) must be Maryland residents. You must be currently enrolled at a community college in Maryland and have earned an associate’s degree by the end of the semester in which you plan to transfer. You must also be accepted for admission to a degree program at a public 4-year higher education institution or a private nonprofit 4-year institution of higher education in Maryland and intend to enroll in order to complete a bachelor’s program. You must have demonstrated financial need, defined as a federally calculated expected family contribution (EFC) of $10,000 or less as reported on the student's FAFSA.

Marymount University

Eligible full-time transfer applicants are automatically offered the highest scholarship they qualify for from the list below:

  • The Marymount Academic Distinction Transfer Scholarship is an $8,000 annual award. The minimum GPA required is 3.20+.
  • The Marymount Academic Excellence Transfer Scholarship is a $4,000 annual award. The minimum GPA required is 3.00+.
  • The Marymount Saints Transfer Scholarship is a $2,000 annual award. The minimum GPA required is 2.75+.
  • If the student possesses a 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA, they are eligible for $18,000/year.
  • All transfer scholarships are renewable for up to four years of study, provided you maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of (at least) a 2.5. In order to receive priority consideration for these awards, your application for admission and supporting documents should be submitted no later than March 1. Please note that no student may be awarded more than one of these scholarships and are only available to students pursuing their first bachelor's degree.

Marymount University also offers a Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship. This renewable scholarship for up to $2,000 is available to first-degree transfer students who have been active members in their former institution’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter. Applicants should be enrolled full time and have at least a 3.5 GPA and 30 college credits. Priority consideration will be given to applications received by May 1. Later applications will be considered on a funds-available basis.

The CyberCorps Scholarship for Service, funded by the National Science Foundation, is open to undergraduate students pursuing a B.S. in Information Technology with a concentration in Networking and Cybersecurity, or a B.S./M.S. with an undergraduate concentration in Networking and Cybersecurity and a graduate concentration in Computer Security. The award includes an $8,000 stipend, full tuition and academic fees, a book allowance of $1,000, funding for conference attendance, and a paid summer internship. Upon graduation, the recipient will fulfill a two-year work commitment in the cybersecurity field with a federal, state, or local government agency or a federally funded research and development company. Undergraduates must be at least at the sophomore level in order to apply.

The Marymount Out of State Residential Transfer Grant is a This $3,000 grant is offered to full-time applicants working on their 1st undergraduate degree, living outside of the state of Virginia who stay in campus housing during their time at Marymount. It is renewable for up to four years of study, provided the applicant continues to stay in on-campus housing.

McDaniel College

McDaniel College offers these transfer scholarships (each of which are renewable):

  • If the student possesses a 2.75-3.24 cumulative GPA, they are guaranteed $17,000/year.
  • If the student possesses a 3.25-3.65 cumulative GPA, they are guaranteed $21,000/year.
  • If the student possesses a 3.66 or higher cumulative GPA, they are guaranteed $24,000/year.
  • If a student is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, they qualify for an additional $2,000/year that can be used in conjunction with the other transfer scholarships.
  • Students eligible for government funds through the FAFSA and Yellow Ribbon Program would receive these in addition to the scholarships.
    • To honor and recognize the importance of excellent teaching, McDaniel College offers a scholarship of up to $100,000 ($25,000 annually) to the children of K-12 and community college educators who have at least four years of current employment in a school setting and are eligible for full-time benefits at their institutions. Any service in a K-12 school or community college qualifies as long as the employment is directly through the school or college — teachers, counselors, nurses, support staff, administrators — at least four years of service equals recognition with up to a four-year scholarship, based on the student’s status as freshman or transfer. Students are required to live on campus to receive the $25,000 scholarship. The scholarship award for students who are eligible to commute is $20,000 annually.
      • The Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) program has been a part of McDaniel College since 1919 and is one of the oldest programs in the nation. In recognition of the Green Terror Battalion’s 100 years of service to our country, McDaniel College is pleased to offer the McDaniel Military Legacy Scholarship (MLS) for veterans* and active duty military personnel and their children. Military veterans, active duty military personnel, and their children who are admitted to McDaniel College as undergraduates are eligible to receive a scholarship valued at up to $25,000 per year ($80,000 over four years for commuter students and $100,000 over 4 years for residential students) to help fund their college education.
        • Children, step-children and grandchildren of any WMC/McDaniel graduate are eligible to receive a new scholarship valued at $100,000, to be distributed annually at $25,000 for each of four years. This scholarship is open to new first-year students and new transfers who are admitted to McDaniel for the Fall of 2019 or later and who will be full-time students who live on campus. Students who wish to commute will be eligible to receive a scholarship of $20,000 annually, with a four-year value of $80,000.

Morgan State University

Morgan State University offers the Transfer Incentive Program (TIP) which is a scholarship program for transfer students who intend to transfer to Morgan State during the fall term, have earned their associate degree by the deadline and plan to study one of the accepted majors. The TIP scholarship provides up to $2,000 per semester for up to 5 semesters. Eligible transfer students must have earned their associate degree and must enroll in one of the accepted majors at Morgan:

How do I become eligible for TIP?

  1. Must be a community college transfer student who has earned an associate degree (degree date must be displayed on the submitted transcript).
  2. Must apply online and submit all required documents for an admission evaluation.
  3. Complete the TIP form if you are eligible for TIP.

Mount St. Mary’s University

Transfer students are eligible for the following scholarships:

  • If the student possesses a 2.00 to 2.74 cumulative GPA, they are eligible for $13,000/year.
  • If the student possesses a 2.75 to 2.99 cumulative GPA, they are eligible for $17,000/year.
  • If the student possesses a 3.00 to 3.49 cumulative GPA, they are eligible for $19,000/year.
  • If the student possesses a 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA, they are eligible for $22,000/year.
  • Mount St. Mary’s University also offers a Phi Theta Kappa scholarship for $3,500/year.

Neumann University

All transfer students who complete an application for admission are considered for merit-based scholarships. No separate application is required. Scholarship awards are based on a combination of your grades and/or test scores. Transfer students are eligible for the following scholarships:

  • Francis Scholarship: Up to $13,000.
  • Clare Scholarship: Up to $11,000.
  • Heritage Scholarship: Up to $9,000.
  • Neumann University also offers a Phi Theta Kappa scholarship for $3,000/year that may be awarded in addition to a student's merit scholarship. Students are considered for this scholarship at the time of application to the University and will need to submit a copy of their PTK membership card/record as a supplemental item with their application.

North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University

North Carolina A&T State University offers a transfer student scholarship f $1,000 for students who are admitted by May 1st and a minimum 3.0 grade point average from the institution the student is transferring from.  

Notre Dame of Maryland University

Transfer Women’s College Students with at least 30 credits and 3.2 GPA or higher are eligible for transfer scholarships ranging from $10,000 to $20,000. As well, for Transfer Women’s College Students who are current members of Phi Theta Kappa are eligible for $2,000 in transfer scholarships. 

Raise.Me

Whether you are a high school student looking to attend a 4-year college or a community college student looking to transfer to a 4-year, college just got a lot more achievable. Complete a RaiseMe Portfolio by adding each of your course grades, club involvement, sports, volunteer activities, and other accomplishments. For each achievement, you will earn a micro-scholarship from colleges you follow in Raise.Me, the sum of which you will be awarded when you attend that college.

Regents Scholarship

Regents Scholarship offers two types of scholarships for transfer students who are attending a University System of Maryland institution: full scholarships and partial scholarships. Applicants go live around the end of March/beginning of April. Students must apply through CSM. 

Saint Joseph's University

Transfer students are automatically reviewed when they submit their application for admission to qualify for the following scholarships at Saint Joseph's University:

  • Merit-Based Academic Scholarships
  • Athletic Scholarships
  • Legacy Awards
  • Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship

Salem University

Through our Articulation Agreement, CSM graduates enrolled in the undergraduate program full-time will pay $325/credit hour, which includes required course materials and fees, provided they complete all courses and graduation requirements in no more than 3 calendar years.

Salisbury University

Salisbury University offers merit scholarships that are automatically awarded based on the following criteria:

  • If a student possesses a 2.5 to 3.19 GPA, they will be awarded $500/semester for up to 6 semesters
  • If a student possesses a 3.2 to 3.49 GPA, they will be awarded $750/semester for up to 6 semesters
  • If a student possesses a 3.5 to 4.0 GPA, they will be awarded $1000/semester for up to 6 semesters  

Transfer Students who apply to Salisbury will be considered for the following special scholarships:

  • Salisbury University Transfer Grant: Students receiving the Transfer Merit Scholarship who are also eligible for a Federal Pell Grant will receive an additional $500 per semester for up to 6 semesters. Students must have an eligible FAFSA and EFC of $5,999 or less
  • Salisbury University PTK Scholarship: Scholarships are available to Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society members who transfer to SU. To be eligible for consideration, an applicant must have earned an associate degree or completed a minimum of 60 transferable hours, have a GPA of at least 3.5 and be applying to SU directly from community college. Awards are $1,000 per year for max of 6 semesters. Limited number awarded and not guaranteed to be awarded each semester.

Shenandoah University

Shenandoah University offers the Academic Transfer Scholarship, which varies from $3,000 to $6,500 per year. The Academic Transfer Scholarship is available students transferring from another college or university. Eligibility is based upon the student’s cumulative GPA from those transfer credits accepted by Shenandoah University. No additional application is required to apply; eligibility is determined based upon a student’s application for admission to the university.  

Shepherd University

Through our Articulation Agreements, CSM graduates who enroll through the Guaranteed Admission Agreement will receive a 25% discount off the out-of-state tuition rate if they meet all the program requirements.

Southern New Hampshire University

Eligible graduates, employees, and the immediate family of employees (spouses, domestic partners, children, siblings, and parents) will receive a 10% tuition reduction in Southern New Hampshire University - College of Online and Continuing Education. Eligible graduates, employees, and the immediate family of employees (spouses, domestic partners, children, siblings, and parents) who enroll in SNHU's online program will receive a waiver of the application fee normally required by SNHU - College of Online and Continuing Education.  

St. Mary’s College of Maryland

Through our Articulation Agreement, CSM graduates who enroll through the Guaranteed Admission Agreement will receive an additional $500 scholarship. 

St. Mary's College of Maryland awards scholarships on a competitive basis to transfer students with outstanding college grades and range from $2,000 to $6,000 per academic year. While there are variations, recipients of these scholarships typically present a rigorous course of study and a cumulative college GPA exceeding 3.0.

Transfer students who enter St. Mary's College of Maryland and are members of Phi Theta Kappa with a GPA of 3.25 or greater, or are a member of their College's Honors Program with a GPA of 3.5 or greater will receive an Honors Scholarship of $1,000-$2,000 that will be reflected in the award amount included in their package.

Stevenson University

Through our Articulation Agreement, CSM graduates who enroll in Stevenson University’s School of Graduate and Professional Studies Adult Undergraduate program will receive a 20% tuition discount. 

Transfer Students who apply to Stevenson will be considered for the following special scholarships:

  • Merit-Based Scholarships: Transfer students who have demonstrated significant academic achievement may be awarded the Stevenson University Transfer Scholarship. All eligibility requirements listed must be met for consideration. This merit-based award may reach $21,300 annually for a maximum of four consecutive years. On average, transfer applicants who have completed 28 credits or more receive amounts similar to those outlined in the chart . All applicants are automatically reviewed. Students with a 3.0 or greater cumulative GPA receive an average award of $21,300. Students with a 3.5 to 3.79 cumulative GPA receive an average award of $19,300. Students with a 3.35 to 3.49 cumulative GPA receive an average award of $17,300. Students with 3.0 to 3.34 cumulative GPA receive an average award of $15,300. Students with 2.5 to 2.99 cumulative GPA receive an average award of $13,300.
  • Seven Oaks Transfer Scholarship: Recognizes the potential of incoming transfer students to become active and engaged members of the Stevenson Community. This scholarship is worth $2,000 per year. Awards are based on a Sevens Oaks Interview. The interview is conducted by a member of the transfer admissions staff to determine the student's past experiences and future expectations of involvement on campus and in the community.
  • Transfer Fellows: Bold leadership. Dedication to community. An ambitious and innovative approach to academics. Stevenson is seeking candidates for the Transfer Fellowship that embody these characteristics and will enrich its university community. Transfer Fellows receive a full-tuition scholarship renewable for four years and an invitation to participate in activities and events to encourage personal and intellectual growth. Applications are due by March 31st. Please note that the full-tuition Fellowship scholarship cannot be combined with any other Stevenson awards. The scholarship does not cover the cost of room, board, and fees. Stevenson Online students are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
  • Theatre and Media Performance Specialty Scholarship for Transfer Students: Stevenson University is proud to offer applicants wishing to major in Theatre and Media Performance an opportunity to compete for several audition-based scholarships of $2,000 per year. These major-specific scholarships may be combined with other Stevenson merit-based awards and are renewable for up to four years of undergraduate, non-accelerated study. To be elective, students must have completed at least 6 credits of college-level theatre courses with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5. Students must have submitted all application materials for university admission, official transcripts from all previously attended colleges, the required essay, and schedule an audition by March 1st. Students must also complete an essay.
  • Visual Arts Scholarship for Transfer Students: Stevenson's School of Design offers portfolio-based Visual Arts Scholarships to incoming freshman and transfer students who plan to major in Fashion Design, Film and Moving Image, or Graphic Design. Awards are $2,000-$5,000 and can be combined with a Stevenson merit-based scholarship award from Admissions. Awards are renewable for four years. Applicants must include a portfolio of 10 examples or up to 10 minutes of time-based media and write an essay. Applications must be submitted by March 31st.
  • Honors Incentive for Transfer Students: Members of Phi Theta Kappa or another college honors society or program may be considered for the Stevenson University Honors Incentive for Transfer Students. Candidates must meet all eligibility requirements. This merit-based award of $2,000 annually for up to four consecutive years and can be awarded in addition to the SU Transfer Scholarship. Students must complete the admissions process by May 1st for fall and November 1st for spring. No additional separate scholarship application is required.

Strayer University

Through our Articulation Agreement, CSM graduates will have the application fee waived. 

Towson University

Students who transfer directly from a Maryland Community College are eligible for the Transfer Achievement Award. Students must submit their admission application and all supporting documents by December 1 and must be transferring directly from a Maryland Community College. Students are evaluated based on credits completed by December 1 (excluding fall courses in progress at the time of application). Budget is limited so minimum GPA/credits will be determined by the strength of the applicant pool.

Trinity Washington University

Through our Articulation Agreement, students who are participating in our Nursing Guaranteed Admission program will have the application fee waived if they apply online. 

University of Baltimore

University of Baltimore offers the following scholarships to Transfer Students:

  • Featherstone Scholarships: open to high school seniors who will start their first semester at the University of Baltimore, undergraduate students applying to transfer to UB, as well as current U.B. college freshman, sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduate students. Interested Students who meet the criteria should submit the scholarship application by March 24th.
  •  
  • Transfer Scholarships. Incoming transfer students will be automatically considered for merit scholarships based on your cumulative transfer GPA from all previously attended schools. Full-time students with a GPA of 2.5 or greater may receive up to $3,500 per academic year. Half-time students with a GPA of 2.5 or greater may receive up to $600 per academic year when enrolled in at least 6 credits. Priority consideration for scholarships is given to those who application is received by Dec. 1.
  • Bob Parsons Scholarship: The University of Baltimore is committed to providing you access to in-demand and career-focused academic programs. Through The Bob Parsons Scholarship Fund, UB is investing in Pell Grant eligible transfer and military/veteran students by providing financial support toward tuition and fees while you complete your bachelor's degree. Students must complete an associate degree or be active duty military, veteran, Reservist or Maryland National Guard with a minimum of 60 semester credits. Students must complete the FAFSA and be Pell Eligible. Students must enroll full time at UB and not have previously attended UB. Student must meet the requirements to qualify for Maryland in-state tuition rates.
  • Wilson Presidential Scholarship: o The Wilson Presidential Scholarship is available to new transfer students entering UB who are seeking their first bachelor’s degree with at least 60 credits. Students must have a cumulative transfer GPA of 3.5 or higher when entering. The Wilson Presidential Scholarship covers 100% of in-state tuition. The scholarship is automatically renewable for four semesters of full-time enrollment (eight semesters of part-time enrollment), (excluding summer), if a GPA of 3.25 is maintained at UB. To apply, students must submit the Wilson Presidential Scholarship Application, an essay of no more than 400 words, two letters of reference (at least one from a college faculty member), and all other supporting materials (transcripts, etc.) must be submitted by April 20th for the Fall Semester.  

University of Lynchburg

The Robert Noyce Scholarship Grant, sponsored by the National Science Foundation, provides significant scholarship support to eligible college students majoring in biology, chemistry, earth science, or mathematics education for grades 7-12. Benefits of being a Noyce Scholar include:

  • $10,000 - $20,000 in Noyce Scholarship support during each of the junior and senior years in addition to merit and financial aid awards;
  • Mentoring from a local, experienced STEM teacher;
  • Engagement in eight unique workshops for future teachers;
  • Experience with strategies and methods for teaching diverse learners and students with disabilities; and
  • Guidance for completing requirements for a VA teacher license.

University of Mary Washington

Out-of-state transfer students are eligible for up to $8,000.00 in merit-based scholarships. 

University of Maryland, Baltimore County

If CSM students participate in the Transfer Student Alliance (TSA), they will receive the following monetary benefits:

  • $75 transfer application fee waiver
  • 25% tuition discount for one concurrent UMBC course per semester while enrolled at CSM
  • Guaranteed annual $1,500 merit scholarship for up to two years if they possess at least a 3.5 composite GPA when applying to UMBC (calculated based on coursework at all institutions attended)
  • UMBC also offers a Phi Theta Kappa Award for $2,500/year for up to two years. Consideration is based upon a numerical standard and competition of the applicant pool. Students must have completed at least 30 credits at the time of admission application submission. Proof of PTK membership must be included with admission application submission. Community college membership in PTK does not automatically guarantee receipt of this scholarship. 
  • UMBC also offers an Academic Achievement Award for Transfers for $2,500/year for up to two years. Consideration is based upon a numerical standard and competition of the applicant pool. Students must have completed 35 or more credits at the time of admission application submission.

University of Maryland, College Park

If CSM students participate in the Maryland Transfer Advantage Program (MTAP), they will receive the following monetary benefits:

University of Maryland, College Park also offers various transfer merit scholarships. To be considered for these scholarships for the fall semester, students must complete their undergraduate admission application by the March 1 early action deadline. Students are only eligible to receive one merit scholarship. All merit scholarship decisions are based on academic and applicant information at the time of applying, not current or ongoing work:

  • The Frederick Douglass Scholarship (formerly known as the Transfer Academic Excellence Scholarship or TAES) is a prestigious University of Maryland scholarship for academically talented transfer students from a Maryland community college. This exceptional academic scholarship honors the life and legacy of Frederick Douglass. This scholarship offers 30 full tuition and 15 half tuition scholarships.
  • The Maryland Transfer Scholarship provides partial-tuition awards ranging from $5,000 distributed equally over two semesters to $10,000 distributed equally over four consecutive semesters. Only in-state students transferring to the University of Maryland from a two-year or four-year institution are eligible. Students must apply for admission by the early action deadline and must submit the FAFSA by the priority deadline of January 1. Students are considered for this award on the basis of academic talent and demonstrated financial need. To maintain the scholarship, students must be enrolled full time beginning this fall academic semester and maintain a cumulative grade point average of a 3.20. Each fall, roughly 200 Maryland Transfer Scholarship recipients are welcomed to campus.

University of Maryland, Eastern Shore (UMES)

Students who will be awarded 1890 Scholarships will join a new 1890 Food and Agricultural Sciences Community focused on fostering academic excellence. This community of scholars will be built on the premise that among like-minded students who work closely together, positive energy is contagious. Thus, the learning community will continually inspire one another to do more and to do better while undertaking a range of specialized developmental activities. Scholarships Awards of up to $8,333 per academic year will be made, according to applicant's need. Basic eligibility requirements for consideration under the UMES 1890 Agricultural Scholarship are as follows:

  • Be a citizen or national of the United States;
  • Have been accepted for admission at UMES;
  • Be enrolled at UMES no later than one year after the date of acceptance to UMES;
  • Be on par to be accepted into one of the following majors: General Agriculture, Human Ecology, Environmental Sciences, Agribusiness;
  • Intend to pursue a career in the food and agricultural sciences, including a career in agribusiness, energy and renewable fuels, or financial management;
  • Have a minimum cumulative 3.0 grade point average (GPA) at the time of application and maintain at least a 3.0 GPA on a semester and cumulative basis while receiving scholarship support; and
  • Be enrolled as a full-time student, i.e., registered in at least 15 course credits leading to an undergraduate degree in any of the four majors listed above.

University of Maryland, Global Campus (formerly UMUC)

Through the Maryland Completion Scholarship, students who graduate from CSM will be able to complete their bachelor’s degree program for $12,000 or less. If selected to receive the Completion Scholarship, students will pay no more than $199/credit for 60 credits. If you need more than 60 credits at UMGC, you will be charged regular tuition and fees for those additional credits. You can receive Completion Scholarship funds during the summer, fall, and spring. terms.

University of Phoenix

Through our Articulation Agreement, CSM graduates who enroll at University of Phoenix will receive a 5% tuition reduction and a 100% Prior Learning Assessment reduction when entering into a Bachelor level program. 

Washington Adventist University

Transfer students are eligible for the following academic scholarships:

  • If the student possesses a 2.75 to 3.19 GPA, they are eligible for $1,500/year.
  • If the student possesses a 3.20 or higher GPA, they are eligible for $3,000/year. 

Webster University

Through our Articulation Agreement, CSM graduates who participate in our Guaranteed Admission Agreement will have their application fee waived. 

West Virginia University

WVU offers guaranteed scholarships for out-of-state transfer students:

  • WVU offers guaranteed scholarships for out-of-state transfer students:
  • If the student possesses a 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA (based on all institutions they have previously attended), they are guaranteed $11,000/year for up to 8 semesters.
  • If the student possesses a 3.0-3.49 cumulative GPA (based on all institutions they have previously attended), they are guaranteed $8,000/year for up to 8 semesters. 
  • To qualify for scholarships, students must apply to WVU by July 1st. If students are going through the Academic Common Market, they are no longer eligible for the scholarship.

York College of Pennsylvania

York College of Pennsylvania automatically considers students who apply to York for transfer scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $4,500 per year. Scholarship award is for up to 3 years for full-time accepted transfer students. Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.00.
