Returning Students

Deciding to resume your education is the first step on the road to reaching your college and career goals.

Life can be full of detours, but it’s never too late to get back on track, and the CSM community is excited to welcome you back.

We want to make it simple to pick up where you left off with your studies.

1. Reapply for Admission

If it’s been more than two years since you attended CSM, you will need to submit a new application to be readmitted to CSM.

Advisors work together to advise students

2. Check College Readiness

Meet with an academic advisor for expert guidance on how to navigate the re-enrollment process. Depending on how long it’s been since you attended CSM, you may need to take the CSM Placement Test to find the courses that are the best fit for your existing knowledge and skills. Your academic advisor will let you know!

3. Register for Classes

Once you’ve been re-admitted to CSM, register for your courses and take the next steps on your pathway to possibility!

If you have any questions about registration, check out these helpful registration resources or consider attending one of our Registration Assistance Sessions.

Credit for Prior Learning

You may be able to receive college credit for your past educational or professional experiences!

This can include scores from Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) exams; career and technical education programs; and more.

To receive credit at CSM, you’ll need to request a transcript evaluation. The process can take four to six weeks, so be sure to request your transcript evaluation as early as possible!

Partnership with ReUp

Your education is your pathway to possibility, and you won’t be traveling alone. We’re here to guide you and accompany you on your road to success.

CSM has partnered with ReUp Education to reach out to former CSM students who have had to put their studies on pause.

The ReUp coaching team will support you through the re-enrollment process and work with you to determine what you need to be successful in your chosen degree path at no cost to you.

If you have been identified to participate in our ReUp partnership, a Success Coach will reach out to you.

Arrange to pay your semester bill by the payment due date.

You can pay your balance in full or enroll in the CSM Payment Plan to pay your bill in monthly installments—a convenient, interest-free way to budget your expenses. The monthly payment plan isn’t a loan program, so there’s no credit check.

There are lots of great ways to connect with fellow CSM Hawks who share your interests and get involved with the campus community. Check out the Student Government Association, CSM Athletics, and our many great student clubs and organizations
