Zoom icon

Zoom Video Conferencing

Zoom is a multi-functional web-based video and telephone conferencing system. The system allows meeting attendees to join via telephone, video, and web. It also allows screen sharing, a white board, and a presentation mode. Zoom conferencing is available to faculty, staff, and students with a my.CSMD account at csmd.zoom.us.

  • Zoom mobile apps are available for iPhone, iPad, and Android devices. Zoom also has a desktop application, which has been installed on all CSM computers.
  • Upload a professional headshot for when you choose to turn off video. This allows others to "see" who they are talking to.
  • Confirm your display name is correct. This will allow others to "see" your name.
  • To temporarily mute or unmute yourself, press and hold space key.
  • There is a Chat feature in Zoom. This allows participants to message the entire group or privately to one participant.
  • Each user is assigned a personal meeting ID. When logged into Zoom, click on Meetings and then Personal Meeting Room. Your personal Meeting ID will be listed. Users can use this ID for any Zoom meeting they would like to schedule instead of creating a new Zoom Meeting ID for each meeting.
  • When hosting a Zoom meeting, arrive to the meeting location 15 minutes prior to the start time to launch Zoom and trouble-shoot any technology issues.
