Pathways program from a CSM Associate of Science in Engineering to a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
The College of Southern Maryland (CSM) is proud to offer, in partnership with the University of Maryland (UMD), a seamless pathway to a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering. Upon completing the engineering curriculum at CSM, students may then transfer with junior status to earn a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at UMD. Students also have opportunities for paid internships, tuition assistance, and employment upon successful graduation and completion of all Pathway Program requirements with the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station.

Students begin by earning an associate degree at CSM:
Students then transition to the University System of Maryland at Southern Maryland (USMSM) to complete their junior and senior classes with UMD—all without leaving Southern Maryland.
Current CSM students interested in this program should apply for the Engineering Transfer Recruitment Opportunity (ENTRY) Program and the Maryland Transfer Advantage Program (MTAP).
Students not currently enrolled at CSM (high school students included) may still initiate interest by emailing questions to engineering@csmd.edu and/or register through the ENTRY link above.
