Real Students, Real Stories
I began my college journey at Howard University immediately following high school, however, due to financial restraints I was unable to continue after my first year... After what felt like never-ending shifts of organizing clothes and counting registers, I realized that I yearned for more in my life and that returning to school was the path to achieving it. And then I learned that CSM was the perfect place to be.
Alongside my three-time Dean’s List streak, I currently serve as a student ambassador, the Event Representative of the La Plata Campus, the Publicist of CSM’s Power of Words book club, a member of Women of Excellence, the Social Media Manager of our Athletics Department, a Miller’s Academy Student Leader and more recently, a national 2024 Civic Season Fellow.
In the future, I aim to use the media as a vehicle for change and representation, a concept I have embraced through my experiences and opportunities. This includes combating stereotypes and advocating for authentic portrayals across various media platforms such as film, television, radio, and even video games. I am drawn to roles in PR and branding within the entertainment industry, aiming to ensure that these diverse narratives reach a wide audience.
