The College of Southern Maryland (CSM) kicks off its 2025 Benny C. Morgan Concert Series this Saturday at 2 p.m. with a free concert by Pianist Rie Moore at its Leonardtown Campus.
Starting in March, a visit to the College of Southern Maryland (CSM) Dr. Elaine Ryan Library located at the CSM La Plata Campus will get you more than access to books, information, data bases, and helpful librarians – it will also get you access to free seeds for growing vegetables and flowers at home.
Due to weather conditions, all College of Southern Maryland (CSM) campuses and instructional sites will open on a delayed schedule beginning at 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 20. All in-person classes will begin at 10 a.m. and all in-person classes that were planned before 10 a.m. will not be held. All online classes and online services will be held and available as scheduled. Essential operations employees should report to work following the direction of their supervisors.

The College of Southern Maryland (CSM) hosted 35 teams of local and regional middle- and high-school students last weekend at the Southern Maryland VEX V5 Robotics Tournament held at the La Plata Campus. At the Feb. 15 tournament, student-team-built robots were inspected, put to the test, judged, and awarded for their high-tech efforts.

Ninety-six students were recognized for completing programs to become certified nursing assistants, geriatric nursing assistants, dental assistants, phlebotomy technicians, certified clinical medical assistants, paramedics, certified nutrition coaches, and certified personal trainers.
The College of Southern Maryland (CSM) will close for Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 20, 2025 and will resume normal operating hours Jan. 21 when the college welcomes back its CSM Hawks to the first day of the Spring semester. During Martin Luther King Jr. Day, access to online services, including registration for credit and non-credit classes, remains available at www.csmd.edu.
The College of Southern Maryland (CSM) has released its dean’s list for the 2024 fall session. Students who have earned 12 or more credits at CSM are eligible to be considered for the dean’s list. At the end of the fall, spring, and summer sessions, full- and part-time time students who have completed at least six credits during the semester and have earned a term grade point average of 3.5 or better will be included in the dean’s list.
