The College of Southern Maryland offers as rich of an experience outside of the classroom as it does within one.

No matter where you attend classes at the College of Southern Maryland, there are clubs and activities available to appeal to almost any interest you might have. Contact a club president/advisor today to learn more!

Interested in starting or renewing a club?  It's easy...

  1. Gather at least 10 student members willing to participate in club activities. Members must have a valid student ID card and be enrolled in credit classes.
  2. Obtain an advisor. Advisors must be employees of the College of Southern Maryland and approved by their supervisor and Student Life Office.
  3. Develop your club constitution and bylaws with the new members to help govern your organization.
  4. Submit a completed Club Registration Form.

Registered Clubs and Organizations

A registered club has completed the paperwork necessary to start/renew a club and has been approved by Student Life. Registered clubs are able to reserve rooms on campus to meet.

Purpose:  To create a safe and inclusive space for students to discuss issues related to race and ethnicity, to promote cultural awareness and appreciation within the broader college community, to provide opportunities for leadership and personal development among members, to advocate for the needs and interests of Black students on campus, and to build strong relationships with other student organizations and the college administration.

Purpose: To educate, encourage, advocate, and present a visible LGBTQIA+ community on campus that is open to students of all sexualities, gender identities and allies. The club will also provide a safe community with resources for people who may not be open about their identity to those around and/or close to them.

Registered and Recognized Clubs and Organizations

Composers Club
Purpose: The purpose of this club shall be is to learn and grow as composer to work together to create compositions and be able to play our compositions together by the end of the semester.


In Focus Club
Purpose: The purpose of the club will be to enhance digital media experience and portfolio, interact with fellow piers of the same interest and create relationships to further networking, and to give fellow piers a chance to voice ideas and express themselves creatively in a healthy environment.


The Power of Words
Purpose: The purpose of this club will be to educate members about the joy of reading and create friendships between members through the mutual love of reading.


Velocity Hawks
Purpose: Create and train a cyber security challenge team for competitions, bring in speakers and trainers concerning security topics and skills, promote employment opportunities for upcoming graduates, and promote security awareness amongst students and area community members.
