Grants at CSM are based on financial need and generally do not have to be repaid.

To apply for these, you must be admitted and CSM must have a processed FAFSA on file. Currently the following grants are available:

Generally awarded to undergraduate students who are financially needy and who have not earned a bachelor’s or graduate degree. More detailed information on the Pell Grant is available on the Federal Student Aid website.

For students whose parent or guardian was a member of the U.S. armed forces and died as a result of performing military service in Iraq or Afghanistan after the events of 9/11. Must be ineligible for a Federal Pell Grant due only to having less financial need than is required to receive Pell funds. Must have been less than 24 years old or enrolled at least part-time at an institution of higher education at the time of the parent’s or guardian’s death.  More detailed information on this grant is available on the Federal Student Aid website.

These grants provide assistance to Maryland residents demonstrating financial need, enrolled full-time per semester, and pursuing an associate degree program. Recipients must make satisfactory progress as determined by the college. Priority is given to students to submit a FAFSA to CSM prior to March 1.  Additional information on these grants can be found on the MHEC website.

This program provides grant assistance to Maryland residents demonstrating financial need, taking between 6 and 11 credits per semester, and pursuing an associate degree program. Recipients must make satisfactory progress as determined by the college. Priority is given to students to submit a FAFSA to CSM prior to March 1. These grants are offered in varying amounts depending on need. Recipients of CSM grants must be enrolled at least half-time in a degree program and maintain a college cumulative grade point average above the probation level as defined in the college catalog. Priority is given to students to submit a FAFSA to CSM prior to March 1.

This program provides grant assistance to Maryland residents, Pell recipients, taking at least 12 credits per semester, and pursuing an associate degree program. Recipients must make satisfactory progress as determined by the college. Priority is given to students to submit a FAFSA to CSM after March 1.
