How to Demonstrate College Readiness

A strong start in your first semester builds momentum and confidence.

To demonstrate your readiness for college as part of the admissions process, there are several options. Documentation may be sent to the Admissions Office is aod@csmd.edu.

Take CSM Placement Tests

Placement tests are available in math, reading, and writing. These tests are designed to assess students' entry-level academic skills.

Submit test scores

Official test scores from the SAT, ACT, GED, Advanced Placement (AP), and International Baccalaureate (IB) standardized tests should be sent directly to the college through the respective account(s).

Scores that meet the requirements can waive the CSM placement tests.

Provide your high school transcript

You can submit your high school transcript to CSM. Students who have graduated high school within the last two years are required to submit official transcripts for review. Outstanding achievement in higher level math and English courses (honors, AP, etc.) may be considered to determine appropriate placement in college-level courses.

Show completion of prior college-level coursework

You can show CSM that you've completed prior college-level English or Mathematics coursework.
