The Career and Technical Education program allows students to earn college credits through a sequence of academic and technical coursework while still enrolled in high school.
Students successfully completing a Career and Technical Education (CTE) program in High School may receive articulated credits which are applicable to designated letters of recognition, certificates and associate of applied science degrees in a career field at CSM at no cost! Note: Articulated CTE credits typically do not transfer to other colleges and universities—they apply toward the CSM programs listed on this website.
The CTE program is a great way for high school students to jump start a college career, technical education certificate, or degree program. You may combine CTE articulated credits with CSM’s Dual Enrollment program to get ahead in college and save money!
The CTE program was started by the U.S. Department of Education through the Perkins Grant.
Career and Technical Education is designed for all students. Start asking questions about CTE in the ninth grade and explore technical program(s) you find interesting. You may begin CTE courses as early as your sophomore year. *Exceptions may apply
Register for the required high school courses to earn articulated college credit. You need to complete the entire program with a grade of ‘B’ or better for Charles and St. Mary's county programs and 80% or better for Calvert County programs.
Articulate credits within two years of high school graduation to CSM.
*Articulations are subject to change.
