Achieving the Dream

At the College of Southern Maryland (CSM), student success is at the heart of everything we do.

Since 2019, CSM has proudly been a member of the Achieving the Dream (ATD) network—a nationwide initiative dedicated to supporting community colleges in creating opportunities and removing barriers to ensure students have equal access to learning, credentials, and fulfilling careers.

As an ATD member, CSM joins hundreds of community colleges across the country in working toward a shared goal: reducing disparities in access, opportunities, and outcomes in higher education while empowering students to build successful futures and stronger communities.

Our mission is clear: to empower students to achieve their goals.

Central to this effort is CSM’s Dream Achievers, a college-wide committee that collaborates with ATD to foster a student-centered culture and enhance educational outcomes. This dedicated group helps to implement the strategies aligned with the Access, Momentum, and Mobility pillars outlined in our 2024-2029 Built for Success Strategic Plan.
