A Voice that We Have Ignored: Works by Miyuki Akai Cook. Through Dec. 13. Tony Hungerford Memorial Art Gallery, La Plata Campus at 8730 Mitchell Road in La Plata. Textile artist Miyuki Akai Cook uses weaving, knitting, and crochet to explore themes of generational well-being and environmental awareness. The SGA, led by the Leonardtown Campus Association in partnership with St. Mary’s County’s Department of Aging and Human Services, is conducting a toy and clothing drive for children in need. Winter Choral Celebration. Dec. 5, 7:30 p.m. La Plata Campus, Hank Willoughby Foundation Center for the Arts (FA Building). Directed by Siobhan Maguire, CSM’s two choral groups, Chorale and Chamber Choir, will perform a variety of vocal styles for small and large vocal ensembles. The Chorale consists of students and community members interested in a basic choral experience, while the Chamber Choir focuses on specific forms of music literature designed for small choral ensembles.
