Community events with opportunities for nonprofit organization participation are listed here. If your community event has such an opportunity, please submit information for possible inclusion on this page and in the Nonprofit Institute monthly newsletter.

The Nonprofit Institute is soliciting service opportunities from nonprofit organizations for CSM’s annual Day of Service on Tuesday, April 22. Opportunities can include things you need to get done, such as gardening, power-washing, construction, administrative tasks—just about anything! Our students and employees are excited about serving our nonprofit community in this way, so please complete your request forms no later than Jan. 31.

Maryland Nonprofits and the Maryland Philanthropy Network co-host the annual legislative preview. Discover exclusive insights into potential new funding opportunities that can supercharge your mission, connect with nonprofit leaders across Maryland, and deepen your understanding of the legislative process. A limited number of scholarships are available to Maryland Nonprofits members who otherwise cannot afford to attend this event.

Southern Maryland Veterans Empowerment Expo
Regional veterans organizations are bringing services and opportunities to service members, veterans, and their families at the Southern Maryland Veterans Empowerment Expo. Nonprofit organizations offering services to veterans are welcome to participate as vendors.

The Nonprofit Alliance is a committee of the Calvert County Chamber of Commerce working to advance the vision of ensuring Calvert County has sufficient resources to fulfill the community's needs. This team facilitates purposeful connections and collaborations between the Alliance and the for-profit sector.

Virtual meetings are held on the third Tuesday of every month. These meetings allow nonprofits to discuss available resources and give members a chance to network.

The Calvert County Grants Collaborative comprises grant writers from nonprofit and government organizations in Calvert County. The group meets virtually every quarter to share information on grants they were seeking, fundraising needs within their organizations that could be served by grant funding, and opportunities for organizations to collaborate on current and future grant projects.

The next virtual meeting will be held Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025.

This group is a forum for discussion for any organization that serves veterans or service members in Calvert, Charles, St. Mary's, and Prince George's counties. The group meets at 1 p.m. on the third Tuesday of every month.
