FAFSA FEBRUARY: FAFSA COMPLETION WORKSHOPS

It’s FAFSA February! Join CSM for hands-on assistance completing the 2023-24 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Workshops will be held at the La Plata (Feb. 7), Prince Frederick (Feb. 15), and Leonardtown (Feb. 23) Campuses. These events are open to everyone and aren’t limited to current or incoming CSM students and their parents.

 

UMD EARLY ACTION DEADLINE FOR TRANSFER IS MARCH 1

CSM students who intend to transfer to the University of Maryland (UMD) for the fall can take advantage of UMD’s early action for priority consideration for merit-based scholarships, special programs, and more! The early action deadline for transfer students is March 1. To learn more, speak to an advisor!

Maryland Community College Promise Scholarships

Receive up to $5,000 to attend CSM full time with Maryland Community College Promise Scholarships! To be eligible, you must submit your FAFSA by March 1 and use CSM’s federal school code (002064). Students who aren’t eligible to receive federal aid, but are eligible for in-state tuition, can submit the Maryland State Financial Aid Application (MSFAA). Learn more at www.csmd.edu/Promise.

'MOORED' BY PHOTOGRAPHER KAITLIN JENCSO NOW OPEN

Photographer and CSM graduate Kaitlin Jencso’s new exhibition, “Moored,” is on display at the Tony Hungerford Memorial Art Gallery at the La Plata Campus from Jan. 27 to March 3. With an eye to cinema, Jencso seeks out beauty in commonplace scenes, focusing on a pop of color, a glimmer of light, a flutter of material.

INTERNATIONAL SNACK TASTING EVENT 

Take your taste buds on a world tour on Jan. 30 and 31 with the International Snack Tasting Event, sponsored by CSM’s Multicultural Alliance Club. Stop by the Student Lounge in the CC Building on the La Plata Campus from 12-2 p.m. Snacks are free, but supplies are limited and first-come, first-served, so don’t delay!

CSM offers free in-person and online tutoring and academic support for whatever you need help with through the Learning Support Services Center. Avoid last-minute cramming and unpleasant surprises during exams by preparing and practicing now!

Whether you’re looking for an on- or off-campus job, a paid internship, or a potential career path, College Central Network (formerly Job Connection) is the go-to career posting site for CSM students and alumni.

You can upload your current resume or use College Central Network’s template to create a resume and begin the search for the position that’s right for you.
