COVID-19 VACCINATION REQUIREMENT LIFTED
The College of Southern Maryland Board of Trustees has lifted COVID-19 vaccination requirements effective immediately. This decision was based on numerous factors, including the Center for Disease Control (CDC) issuing new federal guidelines loosening virus protocols and erasing the distinction among people based on vaccination status. Also contributing to the board’s decision is that 80 percent of the Southern Maryland population is reported to be vaccinated. The college will continue to monitor COVID-19 Community Risk levels and may require indoor masking when risk levels are high. FALL 2022 SESSIONS CHECKLIST
Classes start Wednesday, Aug. 31, for Fall 1 and Fall 3! Here are some quick tips and reminders to help you start the term feeling confident and prepared.
Rent or buy your textbooks and course materials online from the CSM College Store and pick up in store or have your books shipped to you. (Please note that textbooks and course materials are only available to be ordered online.)Check your classes’ course shells in myLearning and peruse the syllabus. Course shells for your classes open seven days before the first day of class.
Get your CSM Student ID card.
Fine-tune your schedule during the Add/Drop period. (Meet with an advisor first to make sure it won’t negatively impact your financial aid or veteran benefits!)

THE BIG CONVERSATION FORUM: RACIAL TRAUMA
On Sept. 11, two international experts address how trauma impacts all of our lives and how racial trauma is often an unseen force. Where does racial trauma come from? How does it affect individuals and communities? And what can we do to end it?
CSM TALONS ROBOTICS TEAM MEETING
CSM students from all majors are invited to join CSM’s internationally ranked Talons robotics team! Our first meeting will be Sept. 9 at 12 p.m.; attend online via Zoom or in person in ST 141 at the La Plata Campus. August is a very busy time for academic advisors. To maximize our availability and minimize wait times for students, August advising is drop-in/ call-in only. Appointments will restart Sept. 12. (While in-person advising is available, we strongly encourage you to call into the virtual queue to be assisted via phone call or Zoom.)
