Empowering Students to Achieve (E.S.T.A.)
The College of Southern Maryland Disability Support Services (DSS) Office would like to invite you to attend a support group for working with students with disabilities. The program, titled “Empowering Students to Achieve” (ESTA), was developed to provide resources and strategies for students with disabilities entering the postsecondary environment.
An additional goal is to allow students to establish supportive relationships with each other. The group will begin to meet monthly each semester with a staff member to assist students with:
- developing advocacy skills
- addressing academic issues
- improving communication and social skills
All meetings will be held virtually via zoom from 1pm to 2pm, participation in this group is free and voluntary. Please contact Rhonda Crockett at (240) 725-5420 or rmcrockett@csmd.edu for more information.
