In this session, participants will engage in an activity that mimics the importance of equity when providing students with materials and directions in the classroom. We will engage in a discussion to explore how the lens of equity can be applied to a variety of classroom situations. |

Disability Awareness: Campus Inclusion [I] Presenters: Turner Coggins, Christina Greer Ellis, Shaneeza Kazim and Sheila Levings Session Description: This is an interactive session that will require participants to move around campus! Session attendees will be introduced to ADA legislation related to students and employees in higher education. There will be an orientation pertaining to the safe operation of accessible equipment. Strategies for the management of obstacles will be reviewed. |

Cultivating a Culture of Inclusion and Belonging for New Faculty through Formal and Informal Training and Mentoring [I and B] Presenters: John Kulikowski Session Description: We will discuss ways that formal mentoring and the Faculty FIRST program help to establish inclusion and belonging for new faculty at the college, as well as the ways in which all faculty can foster a positive environment for our new colleagues. |

Textbook Affordability [E, B] Presenters: Jeff Hunt and Daphne Powell Session Description: In 2020, 65% of college students reported skipping out on buying course materials because they were too expensive, according to a national survey. We will discuss various ways to address this without removing teaching materials. |

Disability Awareness [E, I, B] Presenters: Turner Coggins, Christina Greer Ellis, Shaneeza Kazim and Sheila Levings Session Description: Session participants will be provided with an overview of disabilities, ADA legislation, accommodation requests, and the implementation of accommodation. The difference between accommodation and modifications will be addressed. Attendees will engage in activities that replicate visible and invisible disabilities. Zoom Preparation: Please have the following items, two pairs of gloves, cellphone/tablet, sunglasses, Vaseline or a similar substance, and ear plugs or something to plug ears. |
