Societal Impacts on the Mental Health of the LGBTQ+ Community

This presentation will explore the unique challenges that the LGBTQ+ community faces when it comes to mental health -- including stigma and internalized stigma, microaggressions, lack of LGBTQ+-informed resources/clinicians, etc. We will look into factors related to higher suicide rates among LGBTQ+ youth and consider supports and interventions that can reduce risk and enhance well-being.
