What's in the Packet?
You’ll need to complete and submit all the required documents in the CSM International Student Admissions Packet before we can issue you your I-20:
- CSM Admissions Application
- CSM International Form - You will submit the following documents as attachments to the International Form:
- Proof of Identity – You will need to submit a copy of your passport. You can also choose to submit additional documentation, such as a birth certificate (stamped and apostilled by your home country) and/or other government-issued photo ID. If you are currently on the US on a different type of visa and are applying for a status change, please provide a copy of your current visa.
- CSM Supplemental Form for I-20 Request – Please provide your address in your home country, as well as the address in the US where you plan to reside while attending CSM.
- Proof of High School Completion: You’ll need to provide proof of high school completion, such as a high school transcript, diploma, certificate, or exam scores. You can submit this documentation as part of your packet or email it directly to us at csminternational@csmd.edu. (Please note that it must be translated to English.)
- Proof of English Language Proficiency: CSM accepts official scores for the TOEFL iBT exam and the Duolingo English Test; see the Frequently Asked Questions below for minimum score requirements. If the U.S. State Department recognizes English as an official language of your home country, proof of English language proficiency is not required.
- Proof of Financial Support: You’ll need to show that you, your family, and/or a U.S.-based sponsor have the financial resources and means to support you as you pursue your studies at CSM. Please note that a U.S.-based sponsor must be either a U.S. citizen or hold permanent residency (a green card).
- CSM Declaration of Financial Support: This form must be completed by the person who is acting as your financial sponsor. It must be notarized and apostilled in your home country.
- Financial documentation: Please provide financial documentation that supports the information in your CSM Declaration of Financial Support, such as bank statements, investment account balances, or similar documents.
- International Student Transfer Form (if applicable): If you are currently in the US on an F-1 student visa attending a different institution and wish to transfer to CSM.
- Transcripts (if applicable): All college transcripts that come from institutions outside of the United States must be evaluated by World Education Services (WES), Education Credential Evaluators (ECE), or Josef Silny & Associates (JSA). Official transcript evaluations should be sent directly to CSM from these services. Please be advised that students may be asked for a copy of their course syllabi for review.
