About
I'm a trained astronautical engineer who worked as a test engineer for the Navy before leaving the workforce to start my family. Five kids later, I decided I wanted to transition into teaching, fulfilling my childhood dream of teaching math. A community college is the perfect place because I can focus on my students!
Educational Background
- Bachelor of Science in Astronautical Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
- Master of Science in Applied Mathematics from University of Washington
Q&A
I am very interactive and constantly solicit feedback from my students about whether they understand the material. If they don't, I'll go over it again from another angle, trying to find the way to make it click for every single student in class!
I teach the concepts quickly and then spend the bulk of time working through examples step by step to illustrated the concepts.
Students email me at all hours of the day and night, and I reply as soon as I am able. I also hold unorthodox office hours upon request, thanks to Zoom.
I will work with you to help you succeed!
I absolutely love cooking and baking, and wish I had more time and energy for gardening. I speed-read books of all types in my free time, and I'm still hoping that one of my three cats will turn into a cuddler.
I grew up in a very insular European household and that led to cultivating an appreciation for other cultures and languages. I am a fierce proponent of equity in all aspects of the college, and am a safe place for all my students.
