The College of Southern Maryland (CSM) Foundation Board of Directors announces that Dominic Powell has joined the foundation board as its newest director.

Powell currently serves as Vice President of Business Development and Partnerships for Educational Systems Federal Credit Union (ESFCU), where he is responsible for driving organizational growth by developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with the leadership at community colleges, universities, school systems, and education-related organizations served by Educational Systems FCU, as well as exploring new market areas, identifying new opportunities to Support Education and increase brand awareness. Additionally, Powell manages the Credit Union’s community relations and oversees the Business Development Team.

“As a former CSM Hawk, I’m eager to expand my support and commitment to CSM in this new role, advocating for CSM students and gaining additional resources for the institution,” he said.

Powell is an active member of the community, serving on the boards of many foundations throughout the region, including as Vice President of the Calvert County School Foundation, Secretary for the Support Education Foundation Inc. and a board member for the United Way of Central Maryland.

“His extensive experience with developing and maintaining strategic partnerships will be of great value to the CSM Foundation as we raise friends and funds in support of the college and its students,” said Toni Kruszka '11, interim executive director of the CSM Foundation.

Powell is currently enrolled at the University of Maryland Global Campus and anticipates graduating in 2027 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

The CSM Foundation, a nonprofit, 501(c)3 charitable organization established in 1970, helps increase access to higher education at CSM through scholarship funding and assures the excellence of that education by raising and managing funds for college projects and objectives – including workforce development in Southern Maryland. The CSM Foundation is comprised of a tri-county, all-volunteer board of directors.
