myProgress for Students

How Does myProgress Work?

CSM sets automatic flags that are raised for students enrolled in web and web-hybrid courses who do not log into Blackboard within the first 3 days of the course and then at least once a week for the duration of the course.

Flags can be also raised by instructors of all credit courses to make a student aware of the instructorís concern for the studentís academic progress in a course. You, the student, then, will be telephoned with the purpose of linking you to the proper individual, services, or advice that can assist with any issues identified by the instructor. In addition, instructors can raise kudos to commend you on your academic success. myProgress flags and kudos are merely announcements sent by email. They do not specify grades and are not included on your permanent records.

Organizational mentors also monitor students involved in sports, activities, clubs, and/or organizations that are tied to academic achievement.

Student Success Coordinators on each campus supervise the bulk of myProgress flags and organize student support. The College of Southern Maryland Student Success Coordinators are Beverly Russell on the Leonardtown campus, Laura Robins on the Prince Frederick campus, and Kelly Hart on the La Plata campus. The Student Success Coordinators are available to work with you on an Academic Success Plan and to acquaint you with additional campus resources that are vital to future educational accomplishments. Appointments can be made by contacting the Student Success Coordinators using any of the methods on the left navigational panel.
