Did you know our Lead Coordinator at the La Plata campus was a Kid' and Teen College student, became a counselor, then an assistant coordinator, a teacher of our courses and then a coordinator. That is dedication to our program. Thank you to Sarah Massie for all your hard work.
CSM is an approved continuing education and training agency for early childhood courses. Those seeking to become child care providers can take the courses they need to become certified by the Maryland State Department of Education. CSM offers a variety of courses and two training conferences per year to help child care providers meet and keep their state requirements. Early Childhood Training Conferences offer child care professionals that ability to register for the day or for a couple of short courses. Choose the training that meets your particular needs.
Parents are also welcome to register-many of the courses offer valuable information. Topics are offered in the following knowledge areas: Adult/Infant/Child CPR, Child Development, Basic First Aid, Curriculum Development, Behavior Management, Communication, Health, Safety and Nutrition, and Special Needs.
The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) and the Office of Child Care (OCC) have implemented changes to both pre-service and continued training requirements for family child care providers and center staff in the State of Maryland effective July 1, 2010.
